We came to Monroe in order to get our Christmas shopping done on Thanksgiving weekend. Our reception at the front desk when we checked in was tepid at best. We chose to stay at the Hampton Inn Monroe because it was almost half the price of the Hampton Inn next to King's Island. It was only a 15 minute drive from the amusement park. This hotel is right off the interstate and is very convenient, however, I could hear some of the traffic (mainly just the semis engine braking). The room was somewhat small, but it was clean. There was no elevator at the time I was there (it was either getting repaired or installed). The pool was outdoor but did not try it.... more
