I rented a first floor condo directly from the owner through vrbo.com. I was hesitant at first about renting from a private owner because I'd never done that before but it turned out to be a positive experience. The condo rented for less than the area hotels and provided more room for me and my family. It was very clean and quiet. The only drawbacks were that the pool didn't have steps leading into it (only a ladder) which is difficult for people with disabilities or poor upper body strength and the condo is not directly on the lake side. However, you can easily see the lake from the condo with an unobstructed view and only have to cross a two lane street to get to a small beach and the lake. The condos are located about mid-way between two state parks (East Harbour and Crane Creek)- both of which offer great beaches and swimming. The condo was well worth the cost. Port Clinton is a wonderful town with plenty of free, fun activities. The people there are friendly and traffic... more
