My husband and I just returned from the Choctaw Casino Resort Hotel in Durant, Ok. We went to celebrate our anniversary. We were very pleased with everything there. We had a king bed room that was HUGE - I think it was probably big enough for 2 king beds! The room had some perks that we don't usually get at casino hotels - microwave, larger than usual refrigerator, wall-mounted magnified makeup mirror, as well as the usual hair dryer ironing board & iron & coffeepot. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Rates were very attractive - especially the half price rate on Thursday night. There are plenty of places to eat. We found the buffet to be a little expensive, as most of them are, but we did receive a coupon for 1/2 price for the first night. The Blue Moon Cafe has burgers & fries and the Java cafe has soup & sandwiches. All of the hotel employees we met in the hallways greeted us with a smile and asked if we were enjoying our stay. My wife and I stayed November 8th. We drove there to see Air Supply in concert. I thought it would be fun to stay at the casino hotel and maybe do a little gambling.
I
had read previous reviews about the smoke. I noted them and thought how bad could it be ? I wish I had listened. When I walked through the lobby doors I was hit by an overwhelming wall of smoke smell. I thought the casino must be off the lobby - Wrong. It was quite a distance from the lobby. I don't know how it is possible but smoke from the casino FILLS the whole hotel. I have been to casinos before and have never experienced anything like this. We had a non smoking room at $139 - it might as well have been in the bar.

When I was in bed I felt gross the whole time and felt like things were crawling all over me... No I don't drink or do drugs. I am sure I was imagining this but I couldn't wait to take a shower in the morning. Well so much for that - I ran out of hot water mid shower and... more
