I was rolling through on greyhound to California when I stopped off at McAlester - the last time I stayed here was over twenty years ago when deer and cows were roaming in this disolet wilderness and this place was the only lodge around. And much of what was around then still remains, thankfully there are still vast open spaces and stretches of landscape and trees and foothills bisected by the highway, but for the most part this stretch of the highway has changed, it is now built up with a Chili's bar, Wendy's, KFC, Walmart, even a technical college and a whole bunch of stores and other eateries, all within a few blocks of the lodge, so in terms of location there are plenty of neon lights strung out in the twilight to excite the senses of hunger and thirst.
The rooms themselves are very clean, each room is offered with high speed internet connection, as well as a television, microwave, fridge, coffee, fresh towels, etc as standard, and my bed was more than comfortable with...
