The Carlyle Motel is in a convenient location on the North West side of Oklahoma City. It is an older motel, probably dating back to the 1950's. The room was comfortable enough, but the air conditioner was a very old small window type. The television was also below standards. Bathroom was a bit primitive by today's standards with a very small shower. The desk clerk was very courteous. Fast food and other services conveniently nearby.
I stayed here while joining a group from England traveling Route 66 in antique English Austin automobiles. Aside from its shortcomings, this is a good motel for those exploring Route 66 and Oklahoma City attractions. The rate for a single was $40, which included the tax...very reasonable for lodgings in Oklahoma City.
