My husband, four sons and I went to Oklahoma in March 2001 to visit my best friend who lives in Bartlesville. Due to the size of our family and ages of the children at the time ( 8,7,3 and under 1 ) staying in a motel or equivalent wasn't feasible.
So, we opted to rent a login cabin within Osage Hills Park for the fortnight of our stay. It was like home, a fully fitted kitchen, log fire, bathroom with shower and proper beds !!!. The children adored it as they could run wild without disturbing anyone.
Every other day, the park ranger collected our used bedding and supplied us with a fresh lot.
We had incredible weather for that time of year, the high 70's so mainly stayed outdoors, having BBQ's on the one supplied just by the front door.
In the evenings wild animals such as deer, skunks and racoons came right upto the cabin searching for food which was quite a magical experience.
