I stayed one night for business - I got in really late, but had excellent service. Also, I'm used to travelling and staying in fairly nice hotels for business, but the room here was exceptionally large! As an older building, it has a lot of character, but the bath itself is nothing too exciting. I was also a little disappointed... More

We stayed for three nights, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and were happy enough. Our room was large and attractive, well furnished, two comfy chairs with good light for reading, a built-in desk, a refrigerator that was not packed full of mini-bar items so could actually be used, a safe in the closet. The hotel provided complimentary bottled water in the... More

Ellen, thank you for such a detailed and personal review. Your many positive comments are much appreciated. The Ambassador is many things to many people, and most of our guests return for the many uniquely rewarding things such as superior service, quiet and convenient downtown location, luxurious guest rooms and amenities, free chauffeured Escalade service to any points downtown and... This is a great find in Tulsa. Completely revamped older building. Excellent decor, quiet, really very nice. Upgraded room on the corner of the building. Dog friendly and the staff was very helpful. Close to the great food and drinks on Cherry St. Recommend Andolini's if you like pizza / maybe even if you don't.

Thank you for taking the time to write about us. We get very excited when visitors to Tulsa are pleasantly surprised to find things such as Cherry Street (and Utica Square, and Bookside, and the Brady District, and . . .). We truly are ambassadors of the city, and we love it! More

Stayed here on business for 2 days and was thrilled with this hotel. The service here is wonderful, super efficient, very friendly and helpful! The room was very spacious with a beautiful view of downtown, great bathroom with soaking tub. One if the best things about this hotel is the location very near excellent restaurants on Cherry Street and shopping... More

Thank you! I see that you enjoyed Smoke and Andollini's. Next time you're in town, please be sure to try Utica Square or Brookside, where there are even more great restaurants and shopping. We'll even take you there in our hotel's Escalade! More

Have not been back to Tulsa in almost twenty years and was delighted to find that the building which housed a restaurant called The Chalk Board now contains, not only that restaurant, but a wonderfully comfortable small quiet hotel close to downtown. My room on the 9th and top floor was quite spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. My... More

Thank you for remembering the Chalkboard! It's a Tulsa mainstay, and is now a fixture in the downtown area. I'm sure Tulsa has changed quite a bit since you were here twenty years ago, but we're thrilled that you remembered. Both the Chalkboard and the hotel plan on being here for at least another twenty years, so please see us... More

You will like this classic 1930's art deco hotel. It has been redone and is a very nice place. Great restaurant, great wine selection. Chef caters events and I have used him on occasion. Good staff, reponsive, want to help. Parking can be an issue but use the valet service. Close to everything and very fun. The history of the... More

Thank you for noticing the lobby. Yes, it's just been completely renovated with all new colors, furniture, lighting, and artwork, giving the lobby an airy, more spacious feel. (Yes, even Fezzik would feel right at home, dreaming away his lazy mornings.) More

My wife and I travel to Tulsa 3 to 4 times a year for an "adult" weekend away from the kids. We've stayed in just about every nice hotel there, the Mayo, Double Tree, Marriott, Aloft, etc. but our favorite by far is the Ambassador. The hotel was built in 1929 as an upscale apartment building on what was then... More

The staff was extremely pleasant and our room was great; a three room corner suite on a high floor. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The only drawback to the hotel is that it's located just on the edge of downtown. The area is safe, ... but quiet. You need a car to get around (which is true regardless of... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your stay. Thank you also for mentioning how quiet our neighborhood is, which I'm sure is a dramatic change from the New York City that you're used to. As an ex-New Yorker myself, I truly value the relative calm on this side of downtown. But, as it... More

I have stayed at the Ambassador a number of times. It is one of the most unique places I stay at in the US.
