My only mistake was not reading the Trip Advisor before we booked here. The other reviewers were absolutely right. If you are downstairs you will hear every footstep,every conversation, anything that drops on the floor, unattended dogs barking. The room is nice, the location is great and the price was good. Not sure why all the bad reviews. Staff we encountered were responsive and helpful. Property was nice - yes no view and a block from the beach but they don't lie about that. Based on reviews we were very concerned about noise but were on top floor and did not hear others. Kinda spendy but nice location and would not... more

Spacious suites at a competitive [for this popular area] price. Only 1.5 blocks to the main beach area and a 10 minute walk to downtown restaurants, shops etc. However, three phone calls to confirm rooms and dates [requesting written or email confirmation] meant explaining all the same details of our 2 rooms, 3 night reservation to yet another person. We booked three days at the Van Buren Lighthouse, room #31 and when we got there we were surprised to find out that it was NOT on the beach. The photos kind of put you under that impression, but its NOT on the beach and they even say on the website that its "a block" from the beach so its... more
