The owner told us that she accepts dogs, so we made a reservation. We arrived after a long drive and the owner became upset that we had two dogs and that they are "long hair." She said that I hadn't told her they are "long hair" (she never asked about their hair length). Her partner told us that if the... more

We stayed in the Fossil Lodge in the downstairs bedroom. It was clean, comfortable, and also very cool considering the 90+ degrees it was outside. We travelled from Olympia, spent some time hiking around the Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds and were looking forward to a relaxing afternoon and evening. We got all that and more at... more

The website pictures must be quite old, as now the paint is peeling, front porch boards are eroded, and the whole place needs LOTS of TLC! Very dirty, dark, unfriendly and in general not a pleasant experience. Only good thing about it was the breakfast, which was good, but not good enough to make up for the deteriorated and filthy... more

This property is connected to the Fossil Lodge, which is next door. My family and I stayed in rooms at the Fossil Lodge; however, the guests at both properties gather at the Fossil Lodge for breakfast and we toured the Bridge Creek Floral Inn. I would love to return one day and stay at the Inn. I am attaching pictures... more

After traveling from Australia for yet another road trip in USA, we (2 x 49'ers) fell upon this little gem of a town and B&B after a great day at the John Day Painted Hills. Fell in love with this 1905 built homestead, snuggling up under a beautiful patchwork quilt after a day out photographing the Painted Hills and the... more

The John Day Fossil Beds are a fascinating geological experience, and the views are gorgeous; awesome in the true sense of the word. Hiking in the area is wonderful. The town of Fossil has fossil beds that one can actually dig through, which is fun for kids and adults. So if you want to see these attractions, the town of... more

Enjoyed a relaxing stay at the Bridge Creek Flora Inn the end of April. Found the place to be a true gem. We had the downstairs suite with private bath in the older house (c.1905). Loved the antique decor and down-to-earth welcome! Breakfast was super! Great sausage, farm-fresh eggs and a whole raft of tasty pancakes. Nice trimmings too, fresh... more

Wonderful LITTLE town perfectly located if you want to visit the John Day Fossil Beds. Fascinating two old buildings for the inn. We stayed upstairs in the older building. Roomy and cozy rooms with lovely beds and quilts. Antiques everywhere. Fantastic breakfast. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The place smells old and mustly, small bugs were present in... more

Fossil is a quiet and peaceful little town. It's so quiet that you can hear almost everything happening in the town!!! We stayed Bridge Creek Flora Inn's victorian room with a shared bathroom, but there are rooms with private bathrooms at the Fossil Lodge (the same owner). Owner cooked and served the best hot breakfast I ever had at a... more
