We found this B&B through the 'net, and looked over their website. I contacted the owner, Elaine, directly, and we then talked on the phone. She carefully asked me what we liked for breakfast, whether we drank tea or coffee, any allergies, etc. When we arrived, we found a delightful riverside suite, just as described. The bed was very comfortable, and both breakfasts (we stayed two days) were wonderful. Elaine and her daughter Amy were excellent hosts. I strongly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the John Day- Fossil Beds area. If you have small children, this could accommodate them, but be aware that you are right on the river.

We loved our stay, and out of several B&Bs that we stayed at on this trip, this was overall the best.

If you are expecting luxury (a jacuzzi or something like that) this is not the place. If you want a clean, quiet place to enjoy the birds, and use a base to explore this wonderful part of the state, then look no... more
