This hotel is in a great location, are presently painting outside, so will look much nicer when finished. Room was OK, very clean and the patio overlooking the water was great. Overall disappointed in The Whaler and Newport. Newport was very cold, always windy. We came from Cannon Beach and it was 75 degrees, Newport was 60. We have stayed in many places in Newport--the Whaler is the best. The Staff was very friendly and accomodating, room was spacious and VERY clean, view was beautiful, and the beach was fantastic.
