Thankfully I decided to check this wonderful place out for myself. The other reviews gave it such a bad rep. I find it sad when people exaggerate just because they dont get what they want or expect!! Especially the one about the spindrift room. That is the room we chose to stay in for 3 nights. First off the staff... more

For our 20th Anniversary, we thought we would try this place and selected the Spindrift, a so called "Private Cabin". It looks like a converted shed when you get there. The old wooden steps leading down to it are scary. We opened the door and were hit with some kind of chemical cleaning smell that we couldn't air out for... more

We stayed in the Seabreeze II room for two nights. The view was lovely and the room was comfortable. The weather had changed and it was cool and rainy which we didn't mind. What we did mind was the fact that there was no hot water for showers the first morning! We told the friendly staff person and she reported... more

Avoid this place at all costs! It is a DUMP and way overpriced!!! They even had the NERVE to charge my credit card unauthorized charges after I left! What a racket. The place is disgusting, dirty, and falling apart. The "nature trail" they advertise to the beach is so hazardous that the stairs are falling apart. AND...the deck in the... more

Our family of three stayed in the View Point Room, at the Driftwood Village Motel, the week of July 14th. We could have fitted two or three more in, comfortably. We very much enjoyed our stay. The views from the windows, and large balcony, are extraordinary. The View Point rooms are older, but very pleasant, 1960ish. The website photos don't... more

May 22, 2008 Just spent last weekend at Driftwood Village. It was disappointing in a number of ways. Quite rundown. Actually, one of the buildings was torn down some time ago after apparently sliding down the cliff. We weren't sure our building wasn't next. There were carpenter ants in the room. There were no numbers on the oven dial, so... more

We stayed in the Lighthouse Room this past weekend. It was a little funky but generally clean. They definitely need new beds and bedding, as both are quite old and dated...Definitely not soft and cuddly and closer to icky. The view was great, but the deck was so slanted we were afraid to go out on it, fearing it might... more

Arrived to discover there had been a slide sometime back and several units were not useable i.e. only a cantilevered deck remained. We originally had 4 rooms and we had cancelled 2. The mgrs. tried to tell us they needed a 30 days notice even though the confirm. card said 7 day notice. The views are nice but there are... more

After a lot of research we found Driftwood online and it had what we were looking for: location, privacy, ocean view, mini kitchenette, and affordability. When we went it met our expectations. The couple helping out the owner at the time were so helpful and offering suggestions of which local restaurants to try. New release movies were available to borrow... more

Okay, it's not the Ritz. Perhaps it's closer to a Ritz Cracker (box). My girlfriend and I stayed in the Admiralty Suite, which wasn't bad. We had a nice view of Yaquina Head Lighthouse. The room was a little shabby, but fairly new. The building looks very worn from the outside, and the stairs are a chore. Getting down to... more
