We planned months ahead to take a relaxing trip to the beautiful Oregon coast. After visiting the Anchor's website, we were sold and booked a room. We drove through the picturesque little town of Oceanside looking for the Inn. What we found was a neon sign on the Inn that said "Exotic Dancers". We went in to find out about... more

We stayed here 8/8/07. This is a quiet, charming, seaside town with a nice beach and picturesque rocks off shore, "off the beaten path" on the 3-Capes Scenic Drive between Lincoln City and Tillamook. The old Anchor Inn, a hole-in-the-wall spot, has been remodeled into ~a 5 room overnight accommodation inn. The beds are nice, and the view is terrific;... more

As described by other visitors, the inn is surrounded by boycott signs. Once we were checked in, we never saw another inn employee. The walls were chipped and our sheets had holes in them. One day, our room was not cleaned. Oceanside is a lovely, isolated area. We did have a terrific view of the ocean, so that was a... more

I spent a week at Oceanside with my family and had dinner the 1st night at the Anchor. We were a party of 9 people who sat at 3 separate tables. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give the dinner a rating of 5 (not good or bad) and service a rating of 1 (a waitress complaining... more

After finding the hotel's website I thought we'd found the perfect location for a 1 night stay on the OR coast - what a mistake! A note taped to the door giving us a number to call was the only greeting we recieved. Great except there is no cell phone reception in the area and we had no change for... more

We were looking for a quiet place to spend the New Year weekend. Oceanside is an older community off the main road on a big, lovely, isolated beach. The community is very small, consisting of many vacation homes, several lodging & dining places. Not only is Oceanside nice but there are three State Parks within a 30 minute drive if... more

When you roll into town and see the "Boycott the Anchor" signs it spooks you. But we decided to check it out anyway. The room looked nice enough though the walls were beat up and website photos were very carefully done. Then we went to the restaurant and website photos of the food were not accurate at all. What we... more

We loved our stay at the anchor inn in Oceanside. The rooms are comfy, plasma screen tv's, down comforters on beds. Food was outstanding downstairs. Service was great, we will be back. My husband and I fell in love again there. more

The hotel's website is terribly misleading. First of all, they fail to mention that telephone wires obstruct every room's view of the ocean. Truly awful. The king suite (supposedly the best of the lot) was tiny & didn't even have a couch (just 4 uncomfortable chairs, very romantic!). The room was dingy (dents in the walls, crumbs & dust all... more

We just spent a very romantic weekend at the Historic Anchor Inn. The personnel, and especially the owner went out of his way to ensure our comfort and happiness. We had the pleasure of having dinner in the Inn, and thought the food was delicious, as apparently did all the others in the restaurant, as there was not an empty... more
