I made an on-line reservation, paid a deposit, and got a confirmation number. A month later, I received a cancellation notice via US Mail, indicating that their system had "double-booked". As a consolation, they sent me a gift certificate that is impossible for me to use. more

My husband and I stayed one night on our vacation. Very nice attendant in the office. Clean, quiet room. We did hear the train but it didn't bother us at all. Its kinda hard to find, but well worth it. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly. And the best part is it is in a part of town without a lot of traffic noise. A great place for a good nights sleep. more

The Rugged Country Lodge is in a tired, older though safe-looking part of town (Hwy 30) not far from railroad tracks, but exceptionally well maintained with clean, attractive garden, friendly staff, bountiful varied continental breakfast. Top recommendation except for location, but frankly Pendleton doesn't have any accommodations in charming neighborhoods that we saw. One caveat: what they call a "suite"... more

Just as previous reviewers described. Tastefully decorated and updated rooms. Not large, but large enough! Quiet, though an early morning train which I loved. Car needed for downtown. Reasonable price and so nice to stay in a non-franchise. The lavender was a plus and everything was pristine. more
