~One month before our stay in the hotel, we reserved a room and requested a high floor, while letting them know it was our first time in Portland, as we were on our honeymoon. The hotel did not honor the request by putting us on the 5th floor, even after we asked again. A fruit plate was given in place... more

Stayed two nights here. For what it is, ie a big chain in heart of downtown, it is excellent. Clean, beautifully decorated, walking distance to whole city. Good front staff. more

Although this hotel was expensive, it was clean and in a good location. No bed bugs! One night we had noisy neighbors but otherwise this hotel was quiet and the room was large. Parking was expensive. We chose not to eat in the hotel. Lots of public transportation but we chose to walk everywhere. more

My husband and I took the Coast Starlight train from Seattle to Portland and stayed the Memorial Day weekend at the Marriott City Center. This is the best hotel location since it is within 10 walking blocks of just about everything we wanted to do in the city. We spent most of our days at the waterfront, China Town and... more

I come to Portland often for business and usually stay at the Hilton, but they were booked so I stayed at the Marriott this time. It was a pleasant stay, standard Marriott look and feel. Great downtown location, just two blocks from Nordstrom and all the shopping. The bar at Shula's steakhouse (up the spiral staircase from the lobby) is... more

Arriving at noon, I had no problem checking in. The staff through out my stay was pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent just a few blocks from Pioneer Square with a cafe on the corner. My room had a comfortable king size bed, but the TV was a bit on the small side to watch from bed due to... more

While planning for a Valentine's Day weekend trip, we had planned to stay at a boutique hotel with a $150-200 price tag. On a whim, I tried Priceline and was amazed to get the Marriott City Center for the bargain price of $50! The price was definitely right and we were completely happy with the property as well. The staff... more

Portland Marriott City Center This is a fantastic hotel! The decor is beautiful and very boutique-like: this place feels smaller and more welcoming than a lot of large properties do. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, from the front desk, the doormen, the maintenance people (we called about a minor issue, and it was fixed promptly), and the... more

This is a mediocre Marriott. Room was small and for 200.00 a night I was stuck next to the maid's office on the 5th floor. Stay at the Lucia. Better prices and nicer rooms. more
