The hotel staff was very professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the city areas to visit. The restaurant was also professional - great food, fast service, very attentive and friendly service. The hotel location was perfect for the free fare train downtown or east to shopping and across the street from the convention center. The room was clean and comfortable. more

The staff was the best thing about this place. Single pane glass lots of noise from the Max line, parking lot and street. When I booked with Red Lion, they did not bother to tell me the Lounge was closed for renovation, we were looking forward to an evening on overlooking the city and enjoying a glass or two of... more

This hotel STRANGELY has a rule about what date they start their air conditioning and each April it warms up prior to their HARD AND FAST RULE about turn in on in May. I have had such uncomfortable nights, sweating and wishing I were elsewhere. I PAY almost THE FULL PRICE,convention rate and after this last time, I probably will... more

The Red Lion Convention Center in Portland is an older, but kept up, hotel. The rooms are small. They have a coffee maker, refrigerator (no microwave), an older 25" TV, and central heating/quiet, which is much quieter than the wall mounted exterior units. They have wi-fi, which is free but extremely slow. They also have a couple of computers and... more

I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews on here, but I was very pleased with our stay. This is an older hotel and they have been remodeling. The room was clean and comfortable, no problems with the heat at all. The beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure in the shower. The staff... more

The first night we did not have heat in our rooms (we had two...both had no heat). When we asked about it, she said one of the two boilers had run out of water but the heat should be up and running shortly. After a day of shopping, we came back to the room...still no heat. When we called the... more

Location is good if you want to be across the street from the Convention Center, BUT only two blocks away is the DoubleTree which is way better. My first night at Red Lion left me cold due to the heater not working. Then my new room had water pressure issues in the shower. Cafe was good though. Across the street... more

After seeing previous reviews, I was a little concerned but this hotel was a hotel listed for a conferenceso I decided to stay here. My first impression was that this is an older property undergoing renovations and there was a sign to that effect in the lobby. None of the renovations impacted our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.... more

Decent Hotel, great location, free MAX train is just outside hotel to take you to downtown. Not much in way of restaurants around the hotel except fast food though. Room was decent, recently re-done. Nothing that outstanding about hotel but would reccomend due to location, saves a bunch from staying downtown. more

I stayed here the last 2 nights of a 14 day Oregon road trip/vacation. Previous to staying here all the places I stayed at were small independent motels. As with the previous reviewers I was expecting the worst based on other reviews on this site. Happily I had a really good stay here. I got a good deal for this... more
