I have stayed in many Motel 6 locations and have for the most part found them to be no frills, but clean and serviceable. This was not the case in Portland. The room creeped me out from the minute I walked in. It smelled not so much like cigarette smoke but something musty and nasty. The furniture cusions were badly... more

Went to Portland to visit OMSI and do jet boat trip. When boat trip was delayed, we decided to grab a toothbrush and spend the night. As luck would have it, there was a convention (or two) in the city and we called 10 hotels before we found this one. That in itself should have been a clue. Rooms are... more

The hotel is decent, don't expect to get a discount with AAA, also the hotel doesn't provide bottled water, and the breakfast consists of toast and oj. Go to the Shilo Inn around the corner, it is the same price and has bottled water in the room, also it offers breakfast including: Waffles, yogurt, fruit..ect.. more

Firstly, I booked my stay at this motel thru the hotel website - big mistake. As I was checking in, the hotel manager told me that my room arrangements had changed: I was now staying in a smoking room. (I had booked a non-smoking room) The hotel manager had taken it upon himself to make this change, without telling me... more

Firstly, I stay in hotels around the world for about 100 nights per year, usually 3 star or similar and this is by far the worst I can recall staying in. The room was booked by someone else and was the only one they could find. Non-smoking room requested and it turned out to be the worst smoking room ever.... more

This is more of a motel than a hotel. There's parking on the premises (first-come-first-served, but we didn't have a problem). All the rooms face the parking lot and the street. It was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly for the limited interaction we had with them. This is about as no-frills as you can get. I had... more

Unlike other Shilo Inns, this property is more a motel than a hotel. The doors to the rooms all face the street, and the amenities are limited. There's a free breakfast included with the room price, which during our stay included pre-packaged breakfast muffins, bread, coffee, and orange juice. My friends and I found the place clean and the on-duty... more

I'm staying at the Shilo Inn right now and disappointed to find out their "high speed wireless in every room" was a bit optimistic. Evidently only part of the motel has been outfitted with decent wireless signal and my corner room (107) has sporadic signal and then it's very weak at best. I'm working at a Starbucks now while waiting... more

Let me say that I made a mistake in my reservations. Thought I had reserved a room at the Shilo Inn Rose Garden. However, the reservation was made at the Shilo Inn Convention Center. After, I checked in, I realized the mistake. It was too late to cancel for the night. However, the manager was very accomondating in cancelling for... more

Let me start out this review by stating that I am usually a "3-star-or-better" traveler, so I have certain biases. I decided on a lark to spend the night in Portland, and wanted to do it on the cheap. So I got one of those travel coupon books at a rest stop, and it happened to have a coupon for... more
