This is a standard hotel that is in much need of updating/modernizing their rooms. Old furniture, bedding (although sheets are white and in good shape/comfortable), lighting, tvs, etc.. Bathrooms are depressing. The rooms are very clean and housekeeping does an excellent job! The gym is small, but well equipped and modern. The staff is very nice and helpful at all... more

Thank you for taking the time to comment on our hotel funandrelaxation! Your comments are very balanced, and it is always helpful to hear feedback such as yours. All of our deluxe/ premium rooms and suites, (all of which are the largest size and inventory in the city) received a full renovation that was completed earlier this year. I'm guessing...

The location was good at the edge of the Fareless Zone on Max, overlooking a park, and a 7 min walk to the Convention Center. (However it did not rain during the conference so the walk would seem longer in the rain.) The sunrise view from my room over the mountains was great. The room was comfortable and pleasant, very... more

Thank you for your comments Birdman! I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the hotel. I've shared your comments on the breakfast buffet with our chef and restaurant manager. One good thing about our buffet, if you feel like a specialty omelette, pancake or french toast, ask your server and they'll gladly serve it for you. The internet remains a...

The warm cookie we got when we checked in was a nice touch. Our room was small, but clean and cozy--no funky smells. Very well situated, close to shopping (Lloyd Centre is across the street), and dining. Very good access as well to Portland's excellent light rail system. It was good to see that the Doubletree made it easy for... more

Borgnine, Thanks for taking the time to review your experience at our hotel, the Doubletree Portland. Looks like you booked in one of our standard rooms. Good news, as we start a remodel of those rooms in 2 weeks from floor to ceiling...adding sleeker furniture and more of a Portland feel to the rooms. If size of rooms is important,...

1 block away has open ice skating rink inside the mall! Many choices at the 3rd floor food court . Excellent food in the restaurant, but a bit pricy. The hamburger was excellent and reasonable. Didn't particularly care for the Mexican restaurant inside the hotel. Lots of other restaurants just beyond and around the mall. Parking also pricey, but I... more

The Doubletree is a very nice, business oriented hotel. The best part about it for a leisure trip is that it's within the free zone for the train. You can catch the train right outside the hotel, and take it over the river to the best parts of downtown. more

Seems like an old hotel that's been recently and successfully overhauled. This place is BIG. Lot's of conference rooms with attentive coffee/water service. The catered lunches at our conference were all excellant. Great breakfast buffet at hotel restaruant and reasonably priced. Excellant service from concierge and hotel staff. Rooms were large with actual working doors to a little balcony. Furnishings... more

Why? Have two laptops or maybe an iphone and a Netbook..you WILL pay 9.95 for each device for one day's use. Want to soak in the Jacuzzi? They don't have one. The best part is handing over 18.00 to park your car. Or wait, maybe it's the constant conventions each day that take every parking space available. Have a complaint?... more

Average in every respect except convenience to public transportation both to and from the airport and the city center. Very convenient in that respect. Hotel could use a makeover. Bathroom was dated and worn. Had to fix the linkage myself for the the sink stopper 3X during our stay of 5 days. I think housekeeping kept disengaging it to clean... more

I booked this hotel on Priceline. My 6 year old son and I arrived at the hotel and checked in. I always use a debit card at check in and always ask how much the hold will be on the card. I was told $50.00 and they put a hold on the card for $80.00. The room was spacious but... more

My mom and I checked in the hotel for one night. The hotel staff were very friendly by welcoming us to this luxurious hotel. I love the look of the lobby, it's really nice and big. We kinda got a little confused where the elevators were, but then we realized it was behind us, it shows the back of the... more
