My husband and I were looking for a mid-century modern hotel and booked the Jupiter. It was ok... Clean room, but bathroom dated/ tile damage and could have been cleaner. Friendly employees at front desk. Nice organic shampoo, soaps, lotion. We were in the first floor far corner room. No problem with noise. Neighborhood was a little sketchy... Took a... More

We found the Jupiter to be spic-n-span clean, with friendly staff. It can be noisy, but primarily from patrons at the outside bar. The quietest rooms are 118-124 and 218-224. We had hoped that we could hear the music from the Doug-fir lounge in our room (couldn't get tickets for sold-out show), but this is not the case. The music... More

I booked a two night stay at the Jupiter Hotel when I picked up my son from graduating from Marine Boot Camp, thought we would hang out in Portland. Thought I'd find a hotel he would appreciate, more his age group. Problem is, he likes quality as well as I do. They say the Jupiter is a minimalist hotel and... More

Well, they tried. The Ikea-esque remodel was somewhat tastefully done, but you can't mask 50s construction and the stench of 50+ years of partying. I am not sure what was louder, the necessary in-wall air conditioner that cycled on and off to minimize the humidity from the dank, dark, cinderblock rooms -- or what I learned was the "hippest" bar... The hotel provides ear plugs and I used them to drown out the bar noise. We were told we were lucky to be far from the action but even on a cold rainy night it was rocking. It is a motel remodeled from ikea. For the price we paid we were disappointed.

Poorly redone motel. No elevator, need to lug your luggage upstairs. Bar is outdoor tent structure and noise from it is in your room till 2 am. We got the room through hotel tonight site and would never do it again

We stayed here for 2 nights (Wed/Thurs) in one of the "quiet side" rooms as we were concerned about the noise after reading all of the TA reviews. It is definitely a hotel with thin floors and walls because you really hear everything. I'm also a lighter sleeper and wake up to abrupt loud noises, so there were a few... More

Clean hipster spot. 15 minute walk to downtown. I was there on a Fri and Sat and I don't know what it's like during the week but if you're looking for a tranquil stay on a weekend this is not it. Outside bar was going strong when I turned in at 2 on Fri. I happened to be staying in... More

I like staying at Jupiter Hotel when I am in PDX for work. It has a very young and hip vibe and they have awesome shows at Doug Fir, which I can walk to or simply listen to from outside of my hotel room. This can be a very busy place, with lots of young adults loitering the halls and... More

We love this little treasure in Portland, it's super fun and affordable. The Doug Fir has great food, nothing fancy, but the price is right and we'll keep coming back because it hits the mark! The location is out of the downtown core, for better if you're looking for quiet and worse if you want to avoid driving.
