Well, they tried. The Ikea-esque remodel was somewhat tastefully done, but you can't mask 50s construction and the stench of 50+ years of partying. The hotel provides ear plugs and I used them to drown out the bar noise. We were told we were lucky to be far from the action but even on a cold rainy night it was rocking. It is a motel remodeled from ikea. For the price we paid we were disappointed.

Poorly redone motel. No elevator, need to lug your luggage upstairs. Bar is outdoor tent structure and noise from it is in your room till 2 am. We got the room through hotel tonight site and would never do it again

We love this little treasure in Portland, it's super fun and affordable. The Doug Fir has great food, nothing fancy, but the price is right and we'll keep coming back because it hits the mark! The location is out of the downtown core, for better if you're looking for quiet and worse if you want to avoid driving.
