We had requested an upgraded room with fireplace. The first room was on the second floor, but did not have a great view,(because of the tree and snow). The front desk was happy to change our room. They gave us a choice of two others. We chose the one with a view of the Cascades, which we liked better than... more

We just had a great visit to Timberline Lodge. A little pricey, sure -- but it is worth it. The view of Mt. Hood outside our room window alone was worth it. We had one of the fireplace rooms, which is a little larger than the regular rooms. I did not expect large rooms as Timberline was built in the... more

My husband and I decided to spend a few days at Timberline Lodge during Spring Break to introduce our children to skiing. We are native Oregonians and have visited the Lodge before but never stayed as a guest. Pros: Gorgeous setting. The Lodge is magnificent. Interesting history. Beds were comfortable (feather beds and down comforters with Pendleton blankets. Yes, the... more

I understand when people pay good money to stay in a hotel, they expect a clean comfortable room. This is a National Historic Monument. If it was updated or changed to match what these 24-34 year olds want, it would no longer be Timberline Lodge. Go stay at a chain hotel if you want updated amenities. Clean? Yes, I'd expect... more

Our group of friends stayed at Timberline this past winter. We travel all over the world snowboarding and have a great experience 99.9% of the time. Timberline was by far the worst customer service we have ever had, anywhere. We had four rooms and all of the rooms were noisy and prison sized. My wife and I paid for an... more

WE have had the pleasure of skiing at Timberline with our kids since they were 2 & 4 years old and stay at the wonderful historic lodge each year for a week. This year (with our kids now 8 & 10) we realized it was the ultimate family ski experience. Everything is designed to be wonderful for families. The historic... more

Just the history of Timberline makes the Lodge a "must see". Yes, some of the rooms and bathrooms are small, but they are clean and have wonderful feather beds and comforters, some rooms have fireplaces. The views are spectacular! Dinner was a little spendy but excellent, PNW cuisine at its finest! Staff was friendly and accomodating. I was the only... more

My friend and I have returned from yet another wonderful yearly getaway to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood in Oregon. Though we've been many other places to stay and to ski, nothing compares to Timberline. In fact, the moment we unlocked the door to our room, my friend said, "It's nice to be home" to a favorite room that views... more

We had very nice stay over Valentines day, also had conference there. Went with wife and 2 kids - there was a room mix-up (overbooking) and the manager was fantastic with his service and made things right with free nights. I had read lots of the reviews and it seems like folks expect to be staying at some fancy, spa-like... more

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at Timberline Lodge. We've stayed here several times in the past so knew some of the quirks about the Lodge, but also knew how wonderful it is to be able to ski just out the front door and to sit inside sipping hot chocolate while it's stormy outside. Initially we had booked... more
