I almost cancelled my reservations after I read some of the reviews on this site, but I'm glad I didn't. We stayed in one of the older cottages because we had our dogs with us. It was very dark, but super-clean and comfortable. The kitchenette is very small but well stocked with every thing you need. The bathroom was a... more

We stayed at the Shamrock Lodgettes for 2 nights last week. We didn't expect much - but we were very surprised by the place! It's not fancy, trendy, or large. But it was clean, solid, had good character, and a GREAT location. Make note - if you to go Yachats, EVERYTHING closes by 9pm, if not earlier! So get your... more

This is definitely not a sterile, cookie cutter motel. The Lodgette rooms have all of the charm of a an old fashioned motel. The room was comfortable, clean and nicely appointed. Even though there were people staying next to us, we never heard them. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. They lent us a corkscrew so that... more

Our stay at the Shamrock was a wonderful experience. We rented a spa room and it was all we had hoped for! The staff were very helpful , friendly and accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated and featured a comfortable king size bed, DVD player, remote control fireplace, perfect jacuzzi tub and a nice little kitchen. The room was cleaner than any... more

We stayed for two nights in an ocean facing room. The properties are a little dated but the fittings are reasonably well maintained. Our room was clean and warm with a woodburning stove (which we didn't use). The bed was comfy and the room was very quiet even though there were guests in the rooms either side of us. The... more

The Shamrock Lodgettes is one of a kind. It's the quinessential Oregon Coast experience: funky-cool, on-the-beach, unassuming, tucked away and quietly relaxing. This is our 5th visit -- in all kinds of weather (this last trip had cold temps, but nice and cozy inside). We just love this place! more

The Shamrock Lodgettes (Cabin # 1). These relics of the 1950’s have their appeal, but what should have been a relaxing vacation was really an oddly uncomfortable experience. The cabin was made from knotty pine logs with cement filling. The interior walls were pine paneling aged to a perfect nicotine yellow with time. The fluorescent lights buzzed and the smell... more

I booked a room about a month in advance based on the descriptions on the web site. I was looking for a quaint romantic weekend at the Oregon Coast and I found it. The town of Yachats is small and warm, but has everything you could ever need. We ended up in an Ocean View Room and loved it. Wood... more

We arrived after hours at about 10 pm. They keys were waiting for us in an envelope underneath the welcome mat at the office door. We stayed at a bayside cabin. There are 10 bayside cabins in clusters of 5. We were in the end cabin. There was a fireplace in the room all ready to be lit. When we... more

A review in Sunset mag's "Top 10 Romantic Cottages" and a desire to explore the Oregon stretch of Coastal Hwy. 101 led me to book a 3 night stay at the Shamrock Lodgettes for a wedding anniversary/vacation. I read the reviews on this website before I chose a room and decided to steer clear of the cabins, as people seemed... more
