Our night began with saddle-shoed gentleman and proprietor, Glen, escorting us into the renovated 1860's Hammanasett, richly decorated with antiques and seasonal trimmings. He showed us the game room, wherein a heavy billiards table and statement-piece mantel dominated (complimentary sherry sat on a silver tray). The parlor had book-lined shelves and a baby-grand piano (complimentary port). Glen took our reservation... More

Our weekend at the Hamanasett was a great experience. Owners Ashley and Glen were wonderful hosts. The historic home let you feel as if you settled into another time. Every area of this spacious home felt warm and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and private bathrooms were enormous. Glen and Ashley make all feel as if you have been friends... More

We are very pjeased that you enjoyed Hamanassett's hospitality. We are constantly striving to make our guests experiences memorable with great attention to detail, comfortable surroundings and recommendations on the wonderful attractions and services in the Brandywine Valley. We hope to see you and Donna again soon, perhaps for our Cooking School class on Italian cooking in July. Ashley &... More

We had a lovely one night stay at Hamanasett on Friday night, Nov. 19th. The b+b is lovely, with beautifully decorated public spaces and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast on Saturday morning was decadent - pound cake french toast, brandy/pecan syrup, eggs, bacon, and perfectly made coffee. The owners were gracious, and made us feel like we were at home.... This visit marked our tenth anniversary at the Hamanassett. For the tenth year in a row, it seemed like a whole new place. Ashley and Glen are always making improvements to our room (the Inverness) and to the inn. With the accommodations and the friendliness of our hosts, it's like being at home. This past year alone, Ashley and Glen... More

This is a "do again" B&B. From making the reservation to departing this B&B, it was a great experience. We found both Glen and Ashley to be welcoming and helpful. Their website provided accurate directions (if they are followed as written), an extensive list of area attractions and restaurants, and a helpful suggested itinerary for a multiple day stay. The... We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and that we were able to offer you and the other veterans a complimentary room to say "Thank you for your service". The free rooms for veterans (B&Bs for Vets) was started last year by an innkeeper in West Virginia and has grown to include hundreds of innkeepers across the... More

We stayed here for the weekend and were very happy with the room, the little amenities like snacks left for guests, and the common areas were well kept. The breakfasts were pretty good - I wouldn't describe as 5 stars as others have- they had some hits and misses. What brings it to an average rating is the service provided... More

Oh my goodness. When I saw the title of this review my stomach did flip flops like I was on a roller coaster because I was so shocked. We regret that this guest did not have the wonderful experience at Hamanassett that most of our guests have. Obviously, being in the hospitality business and members of both Select Registry and... Our party of 8 women relatives just had a wonderful stay here. It is a beautiful inside and out. We loved the coi pond and the horses on the farmland. Inside the house was full of antiques and even a pool table. Her formal dining room was set for a fabulous breakfast that was like eating at a 5 star... More

Every year for our anniversary my husband and I stay at a bed and breakfast. This bed and breakfast is by far one of the quietest we have ever stayed in. Although there were numerous couples there the entire weekend, we never heard anyone else. Upon departing I was speaking to Ashley, one of the innkeepers, and I made that... More

Our hosts thought of everything, every amenity you wanted was already in place. Their directions and recomendations were excellent. Their breakfast were beautifully done and tasted very good. We stayed in the Devon room which was fantastic. If you are planning a trip near by I recommend this B& B. By the way all sights were no more than 25... More
