Walking into the inn you immediately see the care and attention to relaxation and enjoyment. The decor is simple and beautiful, the service excellent. We were shown to our room and when we had a problem with the iron, the front desk called back in 5 minutes to let us know they were working on it and did not want... more

I chose Settler's Inn due to the awards the restaurant was given by Wine Spectator, but ended up enjoying the accommodations even more than the restaurant. The Inn is a true monument to the Arts and Crafts movement and, walking in, I felt like I had been transported to an English inn with the Settler Inn's enormous, crackling fireplace, cozy... more

We should have read reviews before booking; had we known that this hotel is located at a major intersection, we'd have looked elsewhere. Our first room (209), advertised as having "views of Bingham Park", actually looked out over the parking lot, the main street of Hawley, and finally views of the tennis courts and ball fields. We asked for another... more

We arrived in Hawley to find our Settlers Inn stay would be no quiet getaway. Ugh. Our room ("Overlooking Bingham Park") also overlooked a noisy, packed parking lot and what must be one of the busiest corners (Routes 6 & 590) in the region. "Overly Crowded, Loud and City-Like" (though admittedly lousy marketing) would have been a more accurate description.... more

We stayed in room 204, and I can report that the decor matched the on-line photo, and it was a spacious room with a very relaxing jacuzzi tub. The view was out to the back garden, so the room was quiet (except the floor squeaks in places). John at the front desk was extremely helpful, advising us on local shopping... more

Dropping off a daughter at an overnight camp in the Poconos, we booked a Sunday night (usually a 2-night minimum is required) at The Settlers Inn in Hawley, PA. The 1920's Inn has been carefully restored, and our room as well as all the rooms we peeked in were very tastefully decorated. Each room features a very comfortable bed, a... more

I have to say that I was nervous about our trip to the Settlers Inn after reading the reviews here. I had already booked the room and then was worried that I wouldn't get what I saw online. I had nothing to worry about. The Settlers Inn was exactly what we were hoping for and more. Every staff person that... more

We just had a family weekend at The Settlers Inn and had a wonderful experience. There were eight of us and we had a selection of rooms that were all very different. The lobby was decorated for Halloween with the most beautifully carved pumpkins I had ever seen and everyone talked about them. The lobby was a great gathering place... more

The Settlers Inn is an arts and crafts jewel, similar to the Roycroft outside Buffalo. Our third floor room was ample, nicely furnished, and spotless. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the wine list very satisfactory. The gardens rate a special mention -- wonderful display of late summer flowers, set against lovely woods. more

We got married here in 1997 and have gone back a few times since. The main draw, for us, is the food, which is always delicious. It's an inn, so the rooms are all a little different and certainly the place isn't vast or spacious. But it is really comfy and homey and well-run. I love the summer, when all... more
