1. rooms are shabby and lousy, and shared bath room on the 2nd floor only gets cold water (very cold) 2. hot water shower available between 6pm to 10pm only, very basic too. 3. security could be the worst thing for this hostel. we lost one cell phone in the room. Can't believe such thing happens in this pious tibetan... more

I went to Xiahe, a small town situated in a valley of Gansu Province this summer of 2005. It is prominent for the Labrang Monastery that all the Tibetans go around early as 3 AM in the mornings to late afternoon.
