We spent 3 nights at this hotel in a casa (a combination of a one bedroom with kitchen and living room, plus a studio). My understanding is that this is, in essence, a condo-hotel, where the units are privately owned, and rented out to guests when the owners are not present. We really never got an overall feel of the... more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Pelican Eyes for our honeymoon in February. We had been on a difficult flight and the weather was so bad in Managua that we couldn't fly to Big Corn Island, so we flipped our trip around and went to the west side first. After a miserable 24 hours of traveling, arriving at the... more

the reviews of this place were great but it was not really for us. It is very impersonal and suited to large groups of people coming to party. very large hotel and if you are at top of the hotel warning as there are hundreds of stairs!! Food is average and to get a very small pool towel you have... more

My stay was so uttely relaxing and entrancing. To wake to beautiful views in Case Dulce Vida sipping coffee on the veranda to the poolside bistro with impeccable service made me feel like a Queen. The staff were so courteous and friendly meeting our every need. Besides relaxing and poolside dining the opportunities are limitless for adventure to explore the... more

Everything about Piedras y Olas was fantastic! We enjoyed spending time talking with the friendly staff, residents, and fellow travelers at the lower bar/restaurant that had an amazing view of all of San Juan del Sur, as well as lounging at the upper pool/infinity lap pool further up the beautiful hillside. The entire grounds are designed with regard to the... more

I read about this place in GQ magazine a couple of months and thought I'd check it out. It was far better in person than could ever be described on paper. There's a spa and day trips like sail boat cruises and canopy line trips. It's near one of the best surf beaches in Central America and the staff is... more

Earlier this month, I stayed at the Hotel Pelican Eyes and it was quite the treat. I did not want to leave. I left completely relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to head back to the states. The staff was VERY friendly, the rooms were clean, and the views were magnificent. My most memorable memory is relaxing in the beautiful infinity pool... more

Pelican Eyes sits atop a hillside overlooking San Juan del Sur and the Pacific beyond. With three infinity pools to enjoy sunsets and a cocktail, it is a beautiful and tranquil setting tastefully built into the natural flora of Nicaragua. Each unit is unique and all are top shelf. Pelican Eyes is a luxury accomodation with every detail well attended... more

We had an amazing experience at Piedras y Olas attending a destination wedding. The rooms are incredibly equipped and spacious (we stayed in one of the two bedroom casitas) and extremely comfortable (with wonderful balcony views). The service is impeccable. We ate several meals at both poolside restaurants and found the food to be delicious (with huge servings), especially breakfast.... more
