Having moved away from the UK 6 years ago, I spend 2 weeks a year coming back to Yorkshire to spend time with my old friends in the area. As I know the area well I was increasingly dispondant with stays at the ever increasing 'faceless' hotels that the world seems to trot out year after year. I was amazed to discover that this lovely family hotel has been established in this lovely part of my old neighbourhood for the past 20+ years and I had no idea that it existed. My current stay here as told me why...... those who have found it don't want everyone else to find out!!!! Only a handful of rooms with a fantastic host (Derek - who tells terrible jokes!) but the feeling of feeling like you are coming home must meet everyone who stays here, regardless of where they come from in the world. The breakfast (large and tasty!) reminded me of my mothers own fare! This is my last night on this trip, but I'll be 'coming home' soon!!!!!! A must stay place if you're visiting West Yorkshire. more
