I stayed here on business as all the Salisbury hotels recommended to me were full, and at least with a chain like Travelodge you know what you're getting. It was generally OK, but there were a few things: first of all, although I'd made a phone booking for myself and a colleague, they had his room but had lost my... more

Having stayed in travelodges before wasn't expecting the ritz - its basic and thats fair enough. However what wasn't acceptable was the poor state of repair of the room. Our 5 year old son locked the bathroom door behind him and couldnt unlock it again. We contacted the reception staff who took 20 minutes to appear by which stage he... more

Great value for the price near Stonehenge. Booked hotel for the summer solstice so the area was quite congested as was expected. Clean and comfortable. Not a lot of extras, but none are expected at this price. Convenient Little Chef right next door. Very helpful desk clerk gave us all the information we needed to navigate the area. more

I stayed here enroute to Cornwall and was pleasantly surprised. I had been booked into the new block, I was initially disappointed to only have a shower in the room but it was excellent, purposed built rather than crammed in and plenty big enough with clean, crisp easy to control water. I always find travelodge baths a bit small anyway.... more

My rating is based on value for money -- this is NOT a four-star hotel! We booked online at the U.K. Travelodge website, and were offered a rate that was half of the best quote I received from other travel websites. We paid £26 per night for a family room that slept four. That's right -- £26 per night, including... more

The Amesbury Travelodge has a great location (within a few miles of the ancient structure, the only major chain hotel that I saw). However, other than that it's hard to praise the barebones establishment. Staff was pleasant, albeit a bit impersonal; the rooms looked aged (perhaps it's the garish orange/navy blue combo that is adopted chainwide); and, the surrounding restaurants... more

We stayed at the Travelodge for one night before going to Stonehenge for the sunrise opening (you have to book this in advance, but it's well worth it). We were just looking for a cheap place to crash for the night, as the trains didn't run from London early enough to get to Stonehenge by 8 am. Expect a 20... more

We stayed for just one night and couldn't have asked for more. The rooms and public areas were very clean, the staff exceptionally polite and helpful (even when about 20 of us tried to check in at the same time!) Asked for a travel cot and had one in two mins asked for an iron/board and had one even quicker!... more

The motel is nicely set back from the main road so does not suffer from road noise. The room was as clean and comfortable as you could hope for from a 'no frills' establishment such as this. The site is shared with a Little Chef (diner) & coffee bar with a petrol station also on site. Don't harbour any illusions... more

The Travelodge isn't horrible.....but it's not great either. In reality, I guess you get what you pay for......which is basically nothing. Travelodge has a nifty little campaign 9they even have signs in the lobby announcing this) about "Why pay for what you don't need?" which is really their justification for not giving you itmes like shampoo, soap, etc. Kind of... more
