A warm, friendly, hospitable and charming place to stay. Just minutes from Stonehenge and located centrally in Amesbury. The place is immaculately cleaned daily; breakfast is outstanding. Colin and Lynda go well out of their way to make your trip worry free. They are extremely personable, warm and are dedicated to providing you with top-knotch good old fashioned hospitality. more

I came to Amesbury to visit Stonehenge and Avebury for some spiritual time with a friend and to make happy memories for her following her recent divorce. The Fairlawn was clean and very quiet even though it was on a main road, and it was fully booked but I didn't hear a single peep from any other guest. The breakfast... more

Our positive experience with Fairlawn House started right at the time of booking the room. It's not easy finding rooms for four people in many UK hotels, and Fairlawn House is no different. However, Colin was very helpful in providing us with a fantastic solution, that being a single room right next to a three-person (family) room. (The doors to... more

We stayed for two nights in September. We chose this B&B based upon the reviews on tripadvisor.com and it's proximity to Stonehenge (and Salisbury). We had pre-booked tickets for 6:45 AM Stone Circle Access (highly, highly, recommended), and wanted to be close by. It was 2 miles from Stonehenge and allowed us to see the stones and be back in... more

Booked for one night to recover from jetlag before trip down to Devon. Owners, as mentioned in all posts, were very kind and pleasant! Easy access from Amesbury high street. Parking is around the back on a side road shared by a health centre. Room was fine. Nice flatscreen TV. Sofa sleeper worked for 6 year old. Beds, not bad.... more

We stayed for one night in August, en route to Salisbury. We were very impressed by everything about this hotel. Splendid listed building, nice lounge and bar (good whiskeys), comfortable room, good breakfast. And most of all, very pleasant and efficient owners, with lots of helpful local knowledge. more

Stayed here for one night to visit Stonehenge. Colin and Lynda are super helpful and friendly and gave us an alternative route to Stonehenge to avoid the traffic. Although this is called as a B&B, it offers more than that with its cosy lounge and bar. For dinner, ask Colin & Lynda to direct you to the Wheatsheaf in the... more

I'd have to tax my brain to find anything negative to say about this lovely hotel and the experience I had there. The room was as nice as promised and the owners who double at all jobs within were a delight to interact with. Very warm and welcoming atomsphere in all areas... room, breakfast restaurant, lounge and bar ( fabulous)... more

Stayed for 3 nights in July with my American fiance. The hotel is very convenient for Stonehenge and Avebury and also for Bath and Salisbury. We also visited Beaulieu which took only an hour or so to reach. The service was excellent, Lynda and Colin are perfect hosts, very discreet but always available. We had room 8, a superior double... more

We had tickets for early admission to Stonehenge. This is highly recommended - you pay a bit more than normal admission, but have access to the stones themselves with only 24 people for an hour. You have to be there very early, however, and as the Fairlawn is only a few minutes' drive away, it is perfectly located. The owners... more
