As an IHG member, I've visited many hotels in the group some overseas. What struck the wife and me about the Stonehenge Holiday Inn was its modern clean appearance and great location. We were in an Executive room and it ticked all the boxes in terms of space, comfort, and cleanliness. The service was very good from the friendly and professional person in reception (Evan), to the room ladies and F&B staff. The breakfast was a buffet and if I had been picky the food could have been warmer although there was a good choice. This establishment comes highly recommended.

lovely staff....we got upgraded by the friendly receptionist as we had been stranded all night on the a303 in the cold and i said i needed a bath. the normal rooms don't have baths but the executive ones do....i couldn't believe her kindness. the room was superb and they also do room service which was great as i was so tired...the food is exceptional....location is great.....will be back lots more times as its on our work route.

Went to Holiday Inn Solstice for Breakfast on 25 Feb 2024, lovely food, nice & hot & good value. Joseph the Restaurant manager was polite, efficient & welcoming despite being busy, he & the staff kept clearing tables, checking food was topped up & making sure things went smoothly. Will go again

Freezing Cold. Second week here & Aircon/ heating does not work Diamond Elite Ambassador. No Welcome Drink, Upgrade, Points or Free Breakfast. Freezing cold rooms with no heating working at all. Never ever again. Never staying again. There are far better hotels in the area. I can drive an extra 4 miles for my free Supercharging. Very Very disappointed. Normally free Breakfast every day. Not even a free drink. Why is this hotel still in business ?

Response from Vivien Westwood, Guest Services / Front Office at Holiday Inn Salisbury - Stonehenge, an IHG Hotel

Hi 801jons thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your stay and I apologise for not meeting your expectations. We have been experiencing problems with the AC/Heating and in particular on very cold days. However, this has now been fixed and is fully functional. I very much regret that the Duty Manager was not informed as they would have made every effort to re accommodate you. As a Diamond Elite Ambassador the choices on check in are a free amenity /breakfast or points and not both. On checking your membership, points were awarded to you on both check in dates and your Greener stay points were also awarded on 6 of the days. Assuring you of the best of our intentions at all times. Yours sincerely, Vivien Westwood Guest relations

Let's start with the positives, very comfortable room and facilities with great staff. The car park is quite large with plenty of charging for EVs. The greeting was welcoming in a lovely sized reception. All good so far. My room was a good size with loads of storage both drawers and wardrobe. A good sized bathroom is always welcome and I liked the heated mirror as it saves it misting over. The bed was super comfy with plenty of pillow options. My only room niggle was lack of USBs and the normal 3-pin sockets are a bit away from the bed. But this is a minor issue. However I just can't recommend the restaurant at all. The menu looked good with plenty of tasty sounding options...sadly a huge section wasn't available and also there was no bacon available (but plenty at breakfast!). I was told there was a 20-minute wait for food which isn't a problem...but it took an hour. Additionally a group of three who arrived after me got their food before me; this isn't acceptable. Sadly my burger when it arrived was pretty drab and not much to talk about, McDonald's just over the road would have been better (and cheaper!). It was clear they were massively understaffed but that no excuse for poor service. Breakfast was excellent with loads of options as it was a buffet. I highly recommend breakfast and such a change from dinner the previous night. Overall I recommend this hotel as it was such a great room but I'd avoid dinner in the restaurant.

Really nice hotel, amazing food, comfortable bed, spacious room, plenty of parking. More importantly, it was off to a great start with exceptional customer service by front of desk Antonio. It cant be underestimated how good service like this enhances a business. A really nice, genuine guy who couldn't of been more helpful. This hotel is lucky to have him and I owned a hotel or any customer service business, i would hire this guy as a priority. You don't get this type of service anymore these days in most establishments and its a shame. Gracias Antonio! Ryan from room 129 and Valencia!

I used to bring my 93 year old disabled grandad here regularly for a few brandies. It used to be a friendly and accomodating establishment. Sadly the last few times i have brought him in it has been a bad experience. I visited twice in the last few months. The first time i was told they can't serve us a drink before 12 o'clock unless we purchased a room. I have never had this issue before as I've always brought my Grandad in at 10:30am.. the barman who told me this was very unfriendly and short with me. I did mention to him that i had been coming here with my Grandad every week or so for years but he didn't seem to care in the slightest.. Today i brought my Grandad back to the Holiday inn in the hopes that it might have just been an off day in there.. we arrived at 1.30pm this time as to avoid being there before 12 as i am not renting a room.. We came into the bar area, the staff looked very unimpressed.. one of the staff said something quietly to the others, to which the barman said " it is what it is, we'll just have to serve them" .. now i should mention i am a 32 year old male and i have alot of tattoos.. i have never before felt so awkward as i have today, walking into any establishment. We are about to go into 2024, in this day and age there should be a degree of professionalism in places like this as to put aside personal judgements on people's appearances especially a customer that has been using the services of the establishment for a number of years.. This put aside, my wife insisted on ordering at the bar as i was feeling very irritated at this time. She was soon told that they do not accept cash and that they can't serve us today. Now i have been paying in cash in the holiday inn for years like i previously stated and at the very least, if this is now the case, there should be some kind of sign or notice to let customers know this before coming all the way from the car park and into the bar area and finding seats. My Grandad is also in a wheelchair so getting him from the car and into his chair isn't an easy task, none the less we had to get straight back out into the rain and from his chair, back into the car again. The attitude from the staff in this place is very unprofessional and unfortunately i am not returning to the Holiday inn. Several years of regular custom has come to an end. I can only hope noone else has the same experience.

We always call into this venue when travelling to see family in Devon. It - historically - has always been a vey good 'stop' for lunch before continuing our journey. BUT - it has changed!! Perhaps we visited on a 'bad' day but the food and the service were appalling. The food - calamari - was inedible. The salad that accompanied the calamari was 'black' in places and as a high risk food - we all left it!!! Very saddened by this as we had always had such a good visit on numerous occasions (at least 50) Perhaps the menu changes, the staff application to detail and the food preparation requires investigation???

Great hotel . I had medium expectations but really this is a very good hotel. Great welcome by the chap on reception and the rest of the staff were also very helpful and accommodating. Hotel was spotless and the room was great with some cans of drink and bottles of water in fridge . Best location for visiting all the stuff surrounding and loads of different food options to choose from locally but the first night we ate in the restaurant and it was better than expected . I was expecting pub grub but it was above that level, not gourmet but it was decent and great value (kids ate free). Breakfast again was very good, not the best but quality was good and there where plenty of options and the staff were happy to get extra bits like pancakes and vege sausages that were not on the buffet. All in all would highly recommend and would certainly stay again if im down that way.
