We had a meal at this pub recently and found it to be very enjoyable - reasonable value and nice surroundings. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We would probably not visit again as there are many other pubs in the area to test.

The staff were very nice at the Lamb and worked hard. However I felt it was overpriced for what we got especially as my parents were staying at another pub a few miles up the road for half the price. The decor was ok in the bedroom but quite dated. The bathroom was recently refurbished to a high standard with lovely... More

Thank you for your review. We feel that we offer a competitive rate for the quality of the room and have many special offers through online booking. We have addressed the issue with the shower curtain and although small, these are the details that turn an average stay into a great one. More

Stayed at The Lamb for one night...The room we had was one of the rooms with a four poster bed, very clean room everything you needed was there. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. can't really say any more a pleasure staying there. The only negative I can think of is that outside our window was some sort of motor... More

We are glad you enjoyed your stay here and thank you for your kind words. The motor running is indeed the air conditioning for the rooms and unfortunately it is a necessity, but I am glad it didn't stop you having a good nights sleep. We hope to see you again soon. More

I wasn't going to write a review but after reading the review below about the reviewer's fantastic Easter break I thought that I probably should. Whilst The Lamb is indeed clean and tidy the housekeepers leave a lot to be desired, it is the first time in my adult life that I have not left housekeeping a tip. This is... More

Just returned home from a relaxing 4 days at the Lamb. Comfortable, remarkably quiet room, welcome log fires, excellent food, friendly staff, a credit to the company (thanks especially to Ross, Tania and David), very knowledgeable about food, drink and area. Very dog friendly, in a great location for exploring. Stourhead Gardens suberb. Excellent dog walking area around Alfred's Tower.... More

We had a comfortable one-night stay in this traditional inn. We opted for a four-poster room, which was a decent size, with a contemporary shower room (nice Neal's Yard toiletries), and tea and coffee-making facilities. The cozy bar area downstairs, with open log fires was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They didn't rush us to finish... More

This place is ideal if you are a country lover seeking a little solitude with some home comforts after spending the last month like us living in busy South-West London. We arrived to an easy "door stop" parking space, walked in a loved the place immediately, it is exactly what we wanted, a warm "pub like" bar with a roaring... More

Two roaring log fires and a whiff of burning logs beckoned us in on a very rainy cold and winters eve. That was a great start but it got better and better. This lovely cosy 300years old Inn was a perfect English Hostelry with delightful furniture collect and selected with great care to enhance the experience of this delightful aged... More

the room was nice but our four poster bed was creaky and the room was smaller than we thought it would be. We had great difficulty in getting the TV to work, there was no digital reception, however we were provided with a DVD player and DVDs, very pleasing service. The bathroom facilities were lovely but however slightly unclean -... More
