I had the misfortune to stay here with my two young children. After being shown to two wrong rooms we were finally shown to the one booked. Our room was next to the fire escape at the rear of the property. It was cramped and dated, with the third bed being a 'fold out' type.
On being awoken in the middle of the night by a break in to the hotel I tried to locate staff to alert them and was horrified to discover the hotel was deserted, the foyer in darkness and locked up. After ringing the police I had to wait in the foyer to let them in, wait until they had searched the building, and then lock the doors again after they had made an arrest. The fire door was still smashed and unsecured. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep that night.
No staff arrived until the following morning. The lounge and bar areas were still filthy from the night before with ashtrays overflowing, drinks left uncleared and litter and spillage on tables and carpets. We found there was a chair... more
