We booked into Churchills Hotel to visit relations in the area but it was probably the worst hotel I've stayed in in the past 10 years.
This place is very much in need of renovation, and our room and corridor absoluty reeked of nicotine, and this was a week after the smoking ban came in. Wall paper was peeling of the walls and the room, and especially bathroom were generally grubby. The back of the showerhead was filthy, which wasn't too surpring as the cold tap did not work and I could not persuade any water to come out of the shower head. The Room did have coffee making facilities, but the shelf they were on leant at an alarming angle, and the carpet was stained with presumably remains of Tea bags. The ceiling tiles in the hallway were missing where tthey had had a water leak, and in the main bar (which is just an average pub) wall paper was peeling in large amounts, and the seats were threadbare.
