I love this place and have been a couple of times - the first time we were on a walking holiday and hadn't realised quite how upmarket it was - we arrived with muddy boots and backpacks but Melvin, our host didn't bat an eye and welcomed us with open arms and a large drink. We were pretty happy with the Inn on the Green, which we stayed at for one night for a wedding. It's set in a lovely old village, Cookham Dean, but be warned: don't trust the directions on the hotel website! Everyone we spoke to had problems finding the place.
