The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was very welcoming, and the service was first class, my wife was served with a beautiful lamb shank, which was of ample proportion and served with in good time. Myself I had the rib eye steak, and that was cook to perfection. It was also nice to see that the fish served at the... More

I visited the FinnyGook for dinner a few months ago, as i entered i was greeted by a warm and polite front of house staff who gave us a great table, I ordered the lamb shanks which came in great time. The lamb shanks I thought were amazing and piping hot (great value for money). I will definitely be coming... More

I have been to this pub / eatery a couple of times . We have been very satisfied on both occasions and will be going again this week. Lovely fire , friendly efficient staff and dog friendly. A warm welcome was received and the food was wonderful. The risotto I had tonight was the best I have tasted for some... More

Visited with a friend today for a birthday lunch. lhe Library room, where food was served, was very cold, no fires lit in this room nor in the bar. Very cold day outside. Waited quite a long time between ordering and being served even though only two other tables occupied. Our friend and I ordered pan fried duck breast at... More

I used to live in the village and returned for family business. The Finnygook used to be the village pub and still retains part of this character as well as being a B&B and restaurant. Good, clean twin bedded room. Welcoming Fire, excellent evening meal with a substantial and cooked to order breakfast. Just stayed one night; however, will return... More

We stayed at this hotel as we travelled to Plymouth to watch a Naval passing out parade at HSM Raleigh. We arrived mid afternoon and the hotel was quiet, we sat in the bar for a while, the atmosphere was nice and staff very friendly. When we were shown to our rooms - 2 separate twin suites, we were impressed.... More

We arrived just after a busy Saturday afternoon service and had to wait awhile for someone to become available to show us to our rooms. We were in No.5, a double which was quite small and basic, the carpet and surfaces would of benefitted from a bit more attention from housekeeping. The bathroom though was perfectly clean, there was a... More

We arrived for lunch and were met by a deserted bar and a strong smell of bleach not the best start. We were eventually directed towards a table in the cold library room and waited ages to get the food order taken, we had to ask twice before anybody arrived. My starter arrived which was pate` that had obviously been... More
