We booked 2 nights bed and breakfast at the Earl of Chatham and secured a very good rate. We enjoyed good hospitality with a lovely cooked breakfast and chose to eat our evening meals in the pub downstairs - an excellent steak dish cooked to perfection, using local, quality produce, with a generous discount for ordering two meals. There is also a large patio (with separate smoking shelters) at the back of the pub and ample parking.
The room was comfortable, the bathroom bright and modern, and tea/coffee making facilities were provided.
Whilst there, we visited the Eden Project just 5 miles away and on our way home, visited the beautiful and quaint harbour towns of Fowey and Looe, within a reasonable driving distance. There's lots more to see in that part of Cornwall too.
We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, value-for- money B&B with a friendly welcome, good pub food and a base to explore the St Austell area of...
