I enjoyed a one night stay at the Penrose B&B at the end of May 2009. The hosts were friendly, helpful and polite. The room was on the top floor, clean, and with a generous sized bathroom. The view from the window was great. Also, the breakfast was of good quality and offered a wide range of choices. Highly recommended. more

I only stayed one night after a local wedding arriving at midnight and left the following morning. I came down to the dining room at 9.17 for my breakfast reserved at 9.15 and was told '0f course you are too late for breakfast, but here is some coffee'. My partner arrived five mnutes later and was told his breakfast was... more

We are only allowed to respond to this review in general terms - so here goes. If any guest comes to breakfast over half an hour after the last guest has been served, and within 10 minutes of check out at 10am, they will find that even though I am fantastic in the kitchen, I cannot keep a cooked breakfast...

We found the B&B easily with SatNav and though parking was a bit tight it was fine for the one night we were staying. The room was clean and tidy with good facilities, we had a separate private bathroom which was only down the hall and not an issue. Breakfast was really good in a nice friendly atmosphere. The village... more

The hosts Chris and Heidi were most welcoming when we arrived. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was very good with plenty of variety (cooked breakfast and continental). Chris and Heidi could not do enough to help! We thoroughly recommend this b&b and will be returning ASAP. more

Although the location is not that attractive in Cornwall, the B&B was right on our route. We received a warm welcome and accomodated into a very large suite room including a double bed and a sofa. Services were amazing : cotton, moisturizing cream, hair dryer, robes, every detail has been precisely taken care of, and of course a full tea... more

As we arrived the owners were there to greet us. So friendly and helpful. We were on the ground floor, in a self contained flat. Bedroom/sitting room, kitchen and bathroom, all clean. Decor a bit dated, but all part of the charm of a large Victorian house. Breakfasts ample. Would definately stay there again, good location, being midway between north... more

We stayed at this B&B for one night in March, 2008. We found the proprietor to be friendly. Our room were clean, and the house was historically interesting. However, we were asked to pay for a cooked breakfast, even though their website and the service we used to book our room (Laterooms.com) said it was included in the rate. The... more

Having stayed in quite a few B&B's, Penrose is easily one of the best, whilst remaining competitively priced. The service is friendly, the location good and the facilities are also all that you could expect. I will make a point of going back. more
