I've stayed here a few times and I do like this Hotel. There is a corridor of pictures where celebrities have stayed there before, so I guess if it's good enough for them.... The gym and spa have been refurbished and the public areas and rooms are spotlessly clean. The evening meal is excellent and breakfast is quite good. As... more

Sumptuous hotel in every way ............................but the food! What a let down! I went with a different outfit for each night of the week we stayed there hoping to have a truly elegant and wonderful experience. However the first night had to return the meal as it was served luke warm. It then came back on plates.."Careful not to touch... more

Stayed at the Carlyon for 5 nights, bed and breakfast through superbreak.com. The hotel was spotless and the staff were very very friendly and would do anything for you. The food was good at the hotel, we only ate one night there as too expensive for anymore. There is a good Chinese and moderate Indian 5 mins walk away. Breakfast... more

We stayed here over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The staff at the front desk were brilliant, helping us with ideas for where to go and nothing was too much trouble for them special mention must go to Kim, Lucinda and Sabrina. Thanks for making us welcome and our stay that bit more enjoyable. The Golf course is a lovely... more

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel in March 09. The hotel is 1920's in style though refurbished and my husband called it 'Proirot meets Pontins!'. Its kind of like a cruise ship atmosphere - plush traditional furnishings in the lounge and bar areas and white tablecloths and silver plated cutlery in the dining room. We waited for the... more

We have stayed at this hotel over the past few years and this year we came back in a larger group, which the hotel coped with well at dinner. The food was to be applauded and we particularly like the use of sustainable fish and local produce. The breakfasts was "as ever" filling, and negated the need for lunch! The... more

I accompanied my husband to this hotel in February this year as he has business in the area. He has stayed here on a number of occasions and pulls his hair out every time. This was my first experience of the establishment. It was full of pensioners on a coach trip and the "cocktail Lounge" was full of people dozing... more

Just got back from having enjoyed a two night special deal. I couldn't fault the value for money. Our deal included dinner, bed and breakfast, golf and spa. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food was delicious. If I were to have a moan it was the sign on the restaurant saying no jeans allowed and men must wear... more

The Carlyon Bay proved to be a good base for our short break. We booked dinner, bed & breakfast for two nights, in-between Xmas and New Year. Check-in was a little disappointing, we were told which room we were allocated then the receptionist walked away to get on with something else. We asked a couple of staff where our room... more

chose to stay here again for our anniversary because they advertised a dinner dance. didn't happen. the dj [in this case person who played cds and didn't speak] entertainment began at 9.30pm in another room. the only dancers were drunken young wedding guests from an earlier function! dissappointed and sad. however will not rule out another stay because the views,... more
