I have just stayed at Waves Byron Bay with 3 girlfriends for a 'girls weekend' away. We found Waves to be great! We decided to go for the 'penthouse' experience, and paid in-advance what we thought was a lot for accommodation in an Australian regional coastal town - albeit a very well known one (A$3500 for seven nights off-peak season). I can't say I liked or disliked Waves. It was ok. Rooms are a good size, clean and quite fresh. I wasn't so keen on the black bathroom. I thought it didn't match the rest of the room. And black disguises everything. Was it clean? I can't say it was for sure. It's a normal hotel in a nice spot! more

We booked this hotel on arrival. There is no restaurants or pool so if you are looking facilities this would not be the place to stay. This is a small, 20-unit hotel. Room very spacious, clean, comfortable. AC good. Location wonderful, very close to beach and walking distance to everything. Staff wonderful.
