Firstly, there is absolutely no reason why this hotel should be called "eco". It is not any more environmentally friendly than any other, and some people will boycott them for this misleading name. However, I stayed there. Overall it is a nice place, but rooms are only serviced every 8 days, and you have to clean your own dishes and... more

I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Byron Bay and would like to recommend Breakfree Eco Beach Resort. Just a few minutes walk from town, you will find this comfortable accommodation with all the amenities. Sharon welcomed us with a big smile and was very knowledgable about the surrounding area. Our room was well equipped and there... more

Stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights. Check in was easy & quick - the staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the local area. Rooms are slightly dated but have everything you need. Could do with a touch up of paint on some of the walls (& the kitchenette facilities are an interesting & out of date... more

SHAME ON THIS PLACE. If you care about the environment, then you will hate what these people have done with the title of their hotel. The hotel rooms are nice and new. Don't get me wrong, a great place to stay at, great just out of town location. Five min walk to town. There are three catches though. 1. You... more

There isn't really anything wrong with this no-frills place and I would rate it highly if it were cheaper, but compared with everywhere else we stayed during our month long trip to Australia I thought it was poor value at $155 per night for a studio room. Previous reviewers don't seem to agree with this however, so it may just... more

We stayed in a studio room in Feb 08. It was an enjoyable stay and great value for money. The room was quite small, but had a small kitchen sink with basic facilities and a dishwasher, a large bathroom, king bed and a small balcony. The decor was basic but modern and comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean.... more

I found the accommodation to be really good, very clean, modern and nice. The bed was really comfortable. A couple of blocks away from the heart of Byron Bay, yet in a quiet street so there is no real noise distraction. The pool was pretty small, but the spa was good. I would definitely come and stay here again. more

The room was modern ,roomy and had all facilities. Location was good just a short walk to town. Also quiet at night to allow good sleep. Until 7.30am when the cleaner drags a mop bucket around outside your window each morning. Would recommend staying here for the good standard room but be aware there are staff problems. We booked through... more

We have just come back from a weekend away in beautiful Byron Bay and stayed at the Breakfree Eco Beach Resort on Shirley St Byron Bay. This place is excellent value, clean and is located 8 minutes from the centre of Byron and 10 minutes from the main beach. We had three people in our group (one couple and one... more
