We have just returned from a ski holiday at this hotel and were absolutely shocked at the way we were treated by the owners - I wish we had read these reviews before we booked it. It is such a shame, as the ski-in/ski-out location is fantastic, as was the food at the restaurant; however the owners were rude and... more

I’ve never written a review before but felt compelled as never have I witnessed owners let alone staff of an establishment to be so condescending and ridiculously rude to myself, girlfriend and friends who had the bitter luck of staying at this resort in Guthega. Fantastic location and not a bad set up but it did not come close to... more

If you like warm open fire places- great german beers- hand picked wines- great food- then I would say its great. We had dinner 2 nights and it was the best for on Snow food and accomadation. Nick is a great bloke who was great with our kids and his staff are good. I have no idea what all the... more

Guthega, great location, interesting too. Searched around, decided to stay at the Guthega Alpine, for reasons that at the time best fitted our needs. Had a funny feeling the first time i rang, spoke to Nick, and could sense attitude already. Then on arrival, we seemed to 'be in the way' in the reception foyer, sorry Jenny, thought we were... more

OK, I didn't actually stay at the Great Alpine, so I will not comment on their accomodation, however I can comment on their rudeness. I was recently walking through the Snowy mountains, and the weater closed in significantly. The nearest town I could get to was Guthega, so I trudged in, completely soaked and hoping for somewhere dry that I... more

The Guthega Alpine Hotel may be one of the more convenient lodgings skirting Perisher Blue, but unless you enjoy being shadowed by its inhospitable owners, it's a lovely nanny-state that you would be better off avoiding. However, if you can stay out of their hair by not committing ill-defined crimes such as not leaving your keys at the bar or... more

We have been staying at a lodge close to the Guthega Alpine Hotel for the last few years, and would always pop in for a bite to eat or drinks on a regular basis. This all changed last year and again this year due to the appalling attitude of the new owners of the hotel. As recently as a couple... more

I visited the GAH for dinner and used their over snow transport. The owner of the GAH was very condescending and antagonistic towards myself and friends. I will NEVER spend another cent at the GAH. DONT GO HERE!! more

We were glad to find something at the last minute but now we know why.. We felt like an inconvenience right from the beginning. The managers were extremely inhospitable and unhelpful. Even the simplest request was too hard to accommodate and they were quite rude and condescending towards us. This really put a dampener on our holiday and we do... more

We have recently returned from a fantastic week at Guthega Alpine Hotel and we can’t believe that anyone could say anything negative about it at all. We have two teenage children and found the owners and staff delightful, charming, happy and caring. The food was gourmet quality and the room we had was large with very comfortable beds. I know... more
