Just Avoid Rooms across the street from the Main Office - They are Very LOUD & Parking Lot wasn't well salted despite the recent snow. Having luggage to carry & 3 different sets of keys to juggle is not fun when its icy. Pros: Convenient location right next to Pitt, CMU etc. Friendly front office staff Free Wifi with no... more

I cannot recommend this hotel because the room was very loud and the bed was quite uncomfortable. My suite/room number was 205F, which is in the building across the street from the main office. Noise ===== I could hear the voices, footsteps, and rolling luggage of every guest in the hallway, on the stairway, and outside the building. I could... more

Carpets, furnishings, baths and kitchens very poorly furnished, old fashioned and grimy. Carpets an furnishings stained and grubby, kitchens ill equipped (virtually no work surface,no dishwasher, old leaky faucets). Radiators have years of dirt in them., cannot be controlled from the rooms..on a central timer and take an hour to heat up. Extremely noisy both from neighboring rooms and particularly from the... more

Stayed at the Shadyside Inn Suites for 2 nights while returning our daughter to the University of Pittsburgh. We had no knowledge of the city when we first looked at the campus two years ago, and since then, have stayed at a couple of hotels in Oakland and a lovely B & B near Heinz Field. I've been reluctant to... more

I just came back from Pittsburgh after a quick 3 day business trip. I learned about Shadyside Inn while doing some internet searches and am very glad I did. Everything was much better then your typical hotel stay. The staff were all extremely friendly. Someone even called me back that was tech savy when I had a computer issue. Try... more

We stayed here to visit school in area for our daughter. We got a 2 bedroom room. It was very noisy between rooms. There was mouse droppings in the furniture which totally grossed us out, at the very least housekeeping should vacuum furniture for new arrival! My daughter slept on the floor because the single bed in her room was... more

Pleasant surprise. The buildings (there are at lest two) are converted apartment blocks. Suits are roomy and comfortable and much more homey than other extended stay type properties. Kitchen was small, but had everything you might need. Plenty of storage space for suitcases that you might have emptied out into the draws and closets. This place is really set up... more

We stayed at the Shadyside Inn for a week when we visited Pittsburgh for a family event. On check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were given a one-bedroom suite instead of the studio that we had booked. The suite was comfortably furnished. The kitchen was rather small, but was well equipped with a full-sized refrigerator and stove,... more

We thought the Shadyside Inn would be alittle more upscale considering the area, but it was good as hotel rooms go. It's not your typical hotel room though...we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and had a large living room, large bedroom with TV and the second bedroom had a twin. The Living room and dining room were combined... more

We stayed at the Shadyside Inn for 2 nights while in Pittsburgh to visit family and friends and to got to the Steelers / Chargers game. I booked it based on the reviews on this site and was somewhat disappointed. We stayed in a studio apartment that had a number of plumbing problems. The shower leaked and the toilet wouldn't... more
