For GAP trail riders, this B&B is a perfect combo of immaculate accommodations, a well-equipped bike shop, and a lovely, locally-sourced breakfast prepared by owner Lynn. The house itself is full of fun antiques and memorabilia. Don't be fooled by the outside of the house (badly in need of a paint job, but happily siding on the way)--clearly much thought,... More

We have stayed here often on multi-day trips on the Great Allegheny Passage. Cold beverages and cookies are always waiting after the long 30 mile climb up from Ohiopyle. Most guests are bikers, so it is a good idea to take shoes/cleats off as mentioned. Breakfasts have been delicious hearty fare- pancakes with local maple syrup, local sausage/bacon, eggs, juice,... The Rockwood Trail House is an OK place to stay if you are riding the GAC. It is conveniently located on the trail and also has an adjacent bike shop with all the necessities should you need repairs etc. The B&B is very clean..Guests are required to remove their shoes upon entering. We were there on an extremely hot and... More

Actually, I did not stay at the B&B. But the bike shop that is part of the B&B is excellent. They have a wide selection of bikes and accessories that was better than many city bike shops (not road bikes, though - this isn't road bike country). A fellow rider had a problem and the service was great and reasonably... More

With minimal effort, this B&B - an nice old house in a lovely, convenient setting - could be great - but it's not. The owners, who live off-site, seem far more focused on their convenience than on their guests' pleasure and comfort. The downstairs was cluttered and airless, ditto the rooms which were poorly arranged and lacked basics like bedside... More

Four of us had the whole place to ourselves. Rooms were comfy. House was charming. We had brief contact with the owner upon arrival, but were basically left on our own and made ourselves at home. Though the train runs near the house, we must have been exhausted by the day's bike ride. I never heard the whistle. Biggest drawback...... More

The inn is located right off trail so we rode our tandem bike right to the B&B from the GAP trail. PROS: location, good breakfast with local farm food, clean, bike shop on premises with great owner CONS:trains come by every 10minutes throughout the night blowing air horn (expected due to proximity to rails) Owner did not appear until breakfast next am which... My wife, son and I stayed here one night in June 2011 while biking part of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) bike route, which runs directly in front of the Trail House. In that end, you can't get much more convenient! This is a perfectly fine B&B, but with some caveats. If you expect personal attention from the hosts, or... More

The Trail House B&B is very conveniently located along the GAP trail and a good stopping point between various towns. The house was wide open so, after dropping our gear, we just walked in. The house is clean, but a little too cluttered with country kitch. The property can best be described as "self serve." There was a wine cooler... More

Rockwood Trail House B&B has the pefect location on the biketrail-We could ride 22 miles to Confluence, a neat little town, and about 12 scenic miles to Meyersdale in the opposite direction. There is an awesome bike shop and I bought a new bike from Lynn, the owner of the shop. He couldn't have been more helpful in adapting the... More
