My son just had his wedding at the Yorktowne and many of us from in and out of town stayed overnight. There was a variety of impressions, but our own impression was that it's in need of a little shot in the arm, but perfectly adequate, and clean. The ballroom is a classic wedding venue, evocative of the 20's when... More

The hotel is aged, but it is an historic hotel. The best option is valet parking. The staff are friendly professional and accommodating. The location is great. It's close to everything, whether walking or driving.

I enjoy history as much or more than the next person, but this hotel needs a little help. The carpet needed to be cleaned, the elevator was worrisome, the advertised restaurant was closed the whole 3 days we were there, it was not convenient to get a luggage cart in at all. When checking out we had to wait a... More

A friend and I stayed one night before the Bob Potts Marathon. In a nice section of Historic York and a really impressive facility on the National Register of Historic Places - well maintained in its 20s decor (old wood, old door knobs, checkerboard tile floors, crown moldings, etc.). There is promt, professional, friendly and convenient valet parking for only... More

We stayed one night in the Yorktowne Inn. The location was perfect for a family visit. The beds were comfortable and the room was enormous. We had a double queen bedroom. We also had a pullout sofa-bed. Tons of room which is so helpful with teenagers. The furniture was dated but the bathroom was elegantly renovated with a great shower.... More

From the outside, this hotel is amazing, towering over you as you stand in the street. When you walk into the lobby you are greeted with the feel of a truly historic place, straight out if an old black and white movie. The staff at the from desk are courteous and very helpful. The (slight) disappointment comes when entering your... More

The Yorktowne is a delightful place to stay....magnificent old wood interiors, beautiful tile floors and an pair of very old elevators that creak with character and efficiently take one to the proper floor The hotel is located in the center of the old city of York, with many restored properties, parks and excellent restaurants. Free WiFi, and reasonable rates give... More

My husband and I stayed at The Yorktowne Hotel for 3 nights in April. It was a delight! Kim at the front desk was especially helpful! We showed up without a reservation and she went out of her way to accommodate us! The room was beautiful! We also had breakfast 2 mornings at the OffCenter Grill and it was delicious!... More

I stayed at the Yorktowne Hotel in York, PA, on Thursday, March 28, 2013. I enjoyed speaking with the General Manager, Rick Cunningham, about the history of the hotel and the upcoming renovations that are being planned. The Corporate Sales Manager, Dottie Ruby, provided me with a tour of the hotel. During dinner, I was able to talk further with... More

On a recent trip to York, I looked for and found a hotel on the historic hotels register. I love checking out these old hotels to see how they're faring, and the Yorktowne did not disappoint. The Yorktowne, in the heart of downtown York , offered a clean, comfortable room at a very reasonable rate. Free WiFi too! The staff... More
