My husband and I went their for our honeymoon. We arrived and within minutes were overcome with a mildew smell. Their were no windows in our room, which made it worse because we could not get rid of the smell. Our sheets were stained with a blue mark and our duvet cover was torn in half, but you could only... more

The setting is enchanting, but it goes downhill immediately from there. We checked in - girl at desk was inexperienced & overwhelmed as two other guests were also trying to solve reservation issues. Took 20 minutes to find keys to the room. The room smelled - mildew-y must-y. The carpet was dirty and dingy. The bedspreads are cheap, beds uncomfortable,... more

I can totally understand some of the negative reviews stemming from the marina but I have never stayed in the hotel. My family and I have been coming to Block Island and Champlin's for almost 10 years on our boat. We have had different length boats thru those years and I must say the staff has always been accommodating to... more

Do not go here. Your boat will get scratch, damaged, your electric will fail, youl will lose ropes, cords, you will trip over cords all over dock, people will walk over your boat, you will have boats running gennys next to you without electric, you will get damage from other boats, poles, etc. This places does not give a crap... more

Went to champlins in August of 08 stayed in one of the suites which was $475 a night and DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!! The room was dirty and most definitely in need of a renovation. The bathroom was tiny and it had spider webs all around the toilet. The shower was sooo small..ok for a guy i guess but not... more

For $250 a night, you can do better. Our room had no windows and was very uninviting. The carpet looks like it hasn't been replaced in decades. There is no inroom coffee and finding ice is difficult. The staff is young and inexperienced. Finding someone not young and inexperienced is almost impossible. The food is overpriced. If you want to... more

The staff is less than attentive and extremely dishonest. My husband ordered 2 cheeseburgers & fries and paid then waited 20 minutes. When he went up to the counter to see what was taking so long, the only employee working the counter smirked at him and said he never ordered anything. The management could care less about its customers. more

I decided to book at Champlin's because it seemed like a family friendly place. At $295 a night for a water view, off season,(week of 6/16/08, I expected alot. Forget it... the place was still getting ready for the "high" season. The theater was closed. The tiki bar was closed. They were still planting flowers and mulching. The food at... more

I have been a long time patron of Champlin’s Marina and myself and my family loves every opportunity we have to stay out there. Our last trip was Labor Day weekend 2007. Trust me I have stayed on my boat at Champlin's for about 20 years and the place only keeps getting better and better. I can't help but to... more

I have stayed all over the world in good and not so good conditions, but at $200+ per night and in the USA, I would expect at the very least: a clean room, professionally courteous staff, and presentable property. Our room had cob webs in corners, light bulbs that were burnt out, and crumbs in the bed in between the... more
