Let's begin with the three weeks it took to make the reservation. Poor, poor service from the beginning. Read the reviews - head the warnings! The room(s) were sickening. Everything was filthy. The kids did NOT want to stay! Every bed had a dirty bedspread - we covered our pillows with sweaters and slept in our clothes - The curtain... more

The place needs serious help and updating. It sits on a beautiful site that is in need of a lot of TLC. more

I really am not sure what to stay about this place. When I made the reservation, I was told it was not fancy. I was told there was no air conditioning and that the windows propped open with sticks. Fine. It sounded exactly like what I was looking for. Well....not exactly. For what we paid, I think they could have... more

We were put in the "cottage" adjacent to the main house. There was a clogged sink, the bed had dirty sheets, and the front porch was cluttered. The shared bathroom was dirty as well. The breakfast was not included, and we found it unappetizing and expensive. The location was also not ideal--a fairly lengthy walk from town. The entire place... more

Warning: Do not go here if you are fussy. This hotel wants two things from you: 1-Relax and 2-Enjoy a bottle of wine with your loved one on the porch. After all what more do you want on an island getaway? We loved the casualness of it all. Hope you are lucky enough to experience it for yourself soon. more

My family and I did not stay here but ate dinner here on 8/23/08 (unfortunately). We keep our boat on a mooring in New Harbor. We arrived at 5:30 pm (1/2 hour before serving time). Juan, a nasty employee, said bar is self -serve only at this time. We said ok and told him we would sit at one of... more

My husband's family travels out to Block Island every summer and rents a house for two weeks and my family boats in New Harbor, however, my husband, fiance at the time, decided we'd like to get married on Block Island and we thought we'd try something different like an inn or hotel. I am a woman who does her research... more

I have stayed at the Narragansset many times over the years, and I really think reviewers here complaining may be missing the point. The sand on the floors, the noisy bar, it's all part of the atmosphere! When you come to BI you need to relax and go with the flow. My girlfriends and I stay here when we want... more

I wish I had done some Web research before I plunked down nearly $300 to stay at this hole ... in the off season, no less. Hopefully with this review I can save others from the aggravation my family went through. Let's start with the worst thing: Noisy, noisy, noisy. The proprietors should warn guests that they have a bar... more

This hotel is located out from the main village - too far to walk - but in an area that's quiet and beautiful. The Inn is perched on a hill overlooking new harbor. The rooms are very basic - almost spartan. There's lots of hot water for soaking in the cabinet showers. The staff is very friendly and willing to... more
