I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and was impressed by the size of the room, cleanliness and pleasant employees. Apparently they have changed hands. The man that answered the phone never mentioned the fact that the entire place is renovating. We were in a room with a broken TV, a toilet that didn't flush without holding the... more

In 2002, as two single parents living on tight budgets, my "new" boyfriend took me there for our first long weekend together. It was clean, close to Newport with not-Newport-prices, and we enjoyed it! In 2003 he got us the same room on the same weekend, and proposed to me there. In 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, we have gone... more

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in the summer of 2006. We arrived early and they were able to get us in our room right away which was nice. The staff was kind and personable, the rooms were clean and decent, the breakfast was general cereal and bagels. Overall we enjoyed our visit. We only used... more

This really was an aweful hotel. The room was dirty - carpet stained, marks on the wall, towels were frayed. The hallway and structure is warped. The continental breakfast, when I saw it, included prepackaged bowls of cereals and crumbs all over the place. We were charged $170, which I thought was because it was such a busy weekend. But,... more

Dirty, stained carpets, outdated bathroom, old and stained couch, no clock, furnishings tacky and old. Not worth the rate. more

An old, 50's style motor inn shows its age. This little place was built waaaay back when the Navy was in Newport and probably was a popular place for sailors to spend a weekend at. It is inexpensive and acceptable. No frills whatsoever, though the rooms have basic cable and an iron. We grew up in Newport and were visiting... more

Our stay was uneventful. Room was clean, no odors in hall, we found our room very quiet. We were on the second floor. I could see where there could be a problem with the rooms in the back of the building on the bottom, it almost looks like they are in the cellar. They are right in line with the... more

We booked the room, and then stumbled across the reviews written here and were freaking out. We stayed June 29th & 30th. What we found was NO STENCH in the hall (second floor), looks like a brand new carpet to me, it actually smelled better than most motels even the upscale ones we have stayed in. Our room was CLEAN,... more
