This was a charming historic home, beautifully restored, with interesting and friendly hosts. The breakfasts were delicious. It's a great spot for a quiet get-away, a short distance from the ocean. Also close to the University of Rhode Island, the reason for our visit. I think we've found our home-away-from-home whenever we head north to visit our daughter at college. more

We stayed in many different B&Bs during our travels and this was definitely the best. The room and ensuite bathroom were both very large and comfortable. The gardens and the house itself were very impressive to look at and it was a real joy to stay somewhere so beautiful after so many B&Bs that looked tired and very plain. We... more

This charming and historic B&B will make you relax as soon as you walk in. Its a place to unplug and be away from the noise of daily life, and be ever so close to Narragansett Beach. The gardens are lovely, don't forget to talk a walk in the back. more

My wife and I really enjoyed the Richards bed and breakfast. The room was spacious and well appointed, the home was very clean and filled with unique items. There is a short but enjoyable walk to the beach. The lawn is well kept and there is a very pretty fish pond in the back. Breakfast was delicious. more

Our family of four stayed at the Richards B&B for the whole week located near the Narragansett Beach. We were there attending our son's high school graduation. Nancy and Steven made us felt right at home the first night we were there since we had just came from Hong Kong after travelling more than 20 hours on flights. Our 11... more

The Richards is a perfect New England b&b gem. So very convenient to Newport and great drive from NYC. The owners are so gracious and accommodating, the rooms are charming and tidy, and we absolutely loved breakfast! We had the most relaxing and romantic weekend, and recommended The Richards to all of our friends. more

I first stayed at the Richards on a solo trip to New England; then I brought my husband back for another trip later on. The first time I checked in, I had expected,of course, the beautiful exterior as presented in the photos. But in the rooms, however, I had thought to see all the signs that indicated it is, after... more

We have stayed here several times, and each time found it delightful! A huge spacious castle with plenty of privacy and a lovely breakfast. We often opted out of breakfast--no offense taken by the owners, as we have relatives in the area. Lovely walk to the pier and beach also. more

Really relaxing place to stay. Charming and interesting. Not your usual b&b - much better. No TV, radio, internet. No AC. But - Clean, Comfy bed. No kids. No noise. Gracious hosts that really made us feel at home. AC was not needed. House is made of solid granite and stays cool inside. Rooms are large. Windows large. Fan was... more
