Green Shadows is a lovely property - beautifully landscaped and our room was quite comfortable. The breakfast that they serve is superior.
The problem is the micromanagement of the guests. Don, the innkeeper is well meaning, but there is such a thing as too much togetherness. My husband and I wanted to get away for a relaxing romantic weekend and did not want the innkeeper with us every time we were in the common area. We also aren't big fans of the innkeepers eating w/ us at breakfast. What happened to "the downstairs of the house is all yours".
We crept around in the common areas, but every time Don heard us, he was on us. He even showed up in the little TV room off of our bedroom after we got back from dinner.We were the only B&B guests that weekend and had closed the outer door to the guest area. He walked in WITHOUT KNOCKING to find out where we went to dinner. I'm glad I brought a robe and happened to be wearing it. At least we were safe in the bedroom... more
