We arrived in Charleston after spending the night in Savannah at the Marshall House (wonderful experience), so we had high hopes for the Rutledge House. We stayed in one of the rooms in one of the Carriage Houses. The Rutledge House is more of a B&B than the Marshall House, and has far fewer rooms but we couldn't help but... more

The staff at the John Rutledge House Inn was so accommodating and hospitable. The food was delicious. The Tempur-Pedic mattress in our room provided us with the best sleep that we have had in years. We left for home feeling revitalized and renewed...We highly recommend this Inn. more

When scheduling a trip to visit Charleston I was given the task of finding overnight accommodations and I booked two rooms in the carriage house, John Rutledge House. Upon arrival we had been upgraded to two rooms in the main house. This was a great stay - the rooms are large and very comfortable. The bed had a tempur pedic... more

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend. It was a great location and we were able to walk to everything. Many other places really nickle & dime you- not here- wireless internet, bottled water, breakfast and afternoon refreshments, all included. The staff was helpful, attentive and very friendly. We would absolutely stay here again if we make it back to... more

The inn has only nineteen rooms, in the house and in the carriage houses behind, and all are in keeping with the era of its being built. The lovely courtyard separates all three buildings. The staff is well-trained, and knowledgable of restaurants, the historic district, and transportation. (We were there to celebrate my 75th birthday and the concierge du jour... more

Everyone we came in contact with was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and nice. The room was very clean, quite large, and comfortably appointed, loved the flat screen and satellite TV. The beds were very comfortable and the A/C plentiful. Breakfast was served promptly and the choices plentiful. One note of concern was the description for the popular Sunday breakfast item did... more

We celebrated our 25th anniversary in Charleston and stayed at the John Rutledge Inn. It is a very romantic and historic Inn. It was fun to stay at a place that George Washington ate dinner at. The only draw back was our 10yr old daughter was with us. We had a wuite with a seperate room for her. I enjoyed... more

We loved the location, (iced) tea in the afternoon (very appropriate in the south) and endless supply of very cold water bottles! The staff was on top of any need and very accommodating. Especially for the $, this is a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again when coming to Charleston. more
