The inn has only nineteen rooms, in the house and in the carriage houses behind, and all are in keeping with the era of its being built. The lovely courtyard separates all three buildings. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and nice. The room was very clean, quite large, and comfortably appointed, loved the flat screen and satellite TV. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in Charleston and stayed at the John Rutledge Inn. It is a very romantic and historic Inn. It was fun to stay at a place that George Washington ate dinner at. We loved the location, (iced) tea in the afternoon (very appropriate in the south) and endless supply of very cold water bottles! The staff was on top of any need and very accommodating. Especially for the $, this is a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again when coming to Charleston. more
