loved every minute of our stay in this charming city and this wonderful inn. The breakfast that was so delicious was able to be delivered to our room each morning. the staff was so helpful with directions and reservations. We stayed in the St. Michael's room, so charming and the view of the steeple was great. The history of this... more

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at the Governor's House Inn. It was perfect. We stayed at the Jefferson Suite (upper floor of the Kitchen House) and liked especially the porch with the comfy wicker furniture and the nice view of the neighboring garden. This was a very private setting. We didn't rent a car and didn't miss... more

We splurged for a 4 night stay for our wedding anniversary. The location of the Governor's Inn is perfect, if you want to be away from the main tourist area, and in a quieter location. We stayed in the Barbados room which is tucked away in a private area in this romantic inn. It was luxuriously decorated and we felt... more

We stayed two nights in March at the Governor's House Inn based on TripAdvisor reviews. It is a wonderful bed and breakfast with beautiful appointments and gracious service. We stayed in the Orange Grove room which has a separate entrance in the back of the Inn. The Inn has stairs up to the main level and this room is located... more

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at this gorgeous Inn. Upon our arrival we were greeted "Southern Style" with a friendly and hospitable inn keeper and a glass of refreshing peach tea. We arrived early so the room was not yet available. They graciously stored our luggage and recommended a great place to have lunch around... more

It was our first trip to Charleston. We stayed in the Independence Room the first night and had some problems with the shower but within a few hours it was fixed. The room is nicely decorated in reds and has a queen size bed. The remainder of our trip was spent in the Middleton Suite which was spacious and very... more

I had some reservations about staying here, as I thought the tariff was rather steep. However, it was worth every penny! The house is living history-elegantly appointed and tastefully furnished. Our room-on the lower price range-was on the third floor-kind of an attic. It was great! Spacious and private-the furnishings are beauttiful and comfortable. You are met by true southern... more

My sister and I took our first trip to Charleston and decided to stay in this beautiful B&B..We stayed in the Magnolia Room, which was on the third floor ..The room was very clean and comfortable and had a spacious bathroom, however the bed was not the best. The breakfast here was not much to rave about.. There are many... more

We LOVED the Governor's House Inn! We stayed in the Barbados Room, which felt really secluded and romantic underneath the main house. The Inn was quiet, the jacuzzi tub was the perfect place to unwind, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast on the side porch was so quaint and delicious. We used the Inn's red cruiser-style bikes to bop around... more

We just returned from our extended weekend trip to Charleston, and were thrilled with the Governor's House Inn. We stayed in the St. Michael's room, which is in the top floor of the house. Other people have reviewed this room as small, but we thought it was perfect for the two of us, was very cozy, and had a nice... more
